Amy Dodson
Raise Your Hand Texas Senior Regional Advocacy Director
All I ever wanted to be was a teacher...from the time I would "drive" my Matchbox little yellow school bus to my self-created school to teach my toys. I was blessed to spend 28 years as an educator in both higher ed and in K-12. While I am not in a classroom today, I am still an educator. Today I spend my passion working with teachers and school leaders to make sure they have their expert voices heard in Austin when decisions are being made for their districts. I will fight for the 5.5 million Texas students and the 400,000 teachers every day and everywhere.
My husband of 30 years, Jerry, and I live in Cisco where we raised our children, Jaime and Jeramy. Jaime lives in Austin and is in the ministry. Jeramy and his wife, Katelyn, live in Eastland where he is a Financial Analyst. Our first grand baby, Adalynn, arrived five months ago...and she may be the cutest thing ever.
I am an avid sports fan, love history, love to travel, love to read, love music, and love my church. I am a pretty simple lady!
