Moriah Powers joined the League of Women Voters Austin Area in January 2019 in search of a way to have a greater impact than her individual vote. She is passionate about issues her community faces every day and feels that the road to reform begins at the ballot box. Moriah served for one year on the LWV-AA board as President-Elect before starting her term as President on June 1, 2020. She also works full-time at Texas Mutual Insurance Company. Moriah was born and raised in the Austin area and currently lives in South Austin with her wife, son, and two adorably ridiculous dogs.
