Dean for the National School of Tropical Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and Co-Director of the Center for Vaccine Development at Texas Children's Hospital
Hotez is an expert in vaccine development and neglected tropical diseases. He has led several projects to develop new vaccines, including a vaccine to protect against SARS, an earlier coronavirus. Hotez is also a fellow in disease and poverty at the James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy at Rice University and the founding dean of the National School of Tropical Medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine.
